The Men's and Women's Track & Field teams got their season underway by giving back to the Lynchburg community.

With the first day down of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships complete, the Lynchburg College men’s squad presently sits in first place, with the Hornets in fifth on the women’s side.

The Lynchburg College men’s track and field team won a fourth-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) outdoor track and field championship Saturday,, which was hosted by Lynchburg College.

Senior decathlete James Bell, fresh off two victories at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championships this past weekend, finished second overall at the Penn Relays decathlon, after the two-day meet concluded on Wednesday.

Members of the Lynchburg College men’s and women’s track and field teams finished competing in the two-day Highlander Invitational on Saturday, hosted by Radford University.

In an effort to qualify for the national meet, members of the Lynchburg College men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams competed at the Duke Twilight on Sunday.

Lynchburg College played host to the first day of the Lynchburg College Open Multi-Event on Monday, which features a men’s decathlon and a women’s heptathlon.

The full contingent of the Lynchburg College men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the Liberty Open on Saturday, which was the second day of the meet being held at the Tolsma Indoor Track Center.
